Late Wheesung’s Family to Donate All Condolence Money “Thank You for Filling His Final Journey”

On March 17, Wheesung’s agency Tajo Entertainment released an official statement from his family, “We sincerely thank everyone who attended Wheesung’s funeral and mourned his passing. We would like to provide guidance regarding the donation of the condolence money received in his honor.“
Wheesung’s younger brother expressed his gratitude, “Throughout the funeral last weekend, countless colleagues and fans came to send my brother off, ensuring that he was never alone on his final journey. Our family tried our best to show our gratitude and respect, but if there were any shortcomings, we sincerely ask for your understanding.“

He confessed, “Hearing how Wheesung’s music brought happiness and strength to so many people has been a great source of solace for me. Seeing people so deeply grieve for my brother made me realize how beautiful it is to love someone with such passion.”
He continued, “Even as he endured overwhelming negative emotions and difficult hardships, my brother remained dedicated to his music. He never stopped striving to create beautiful songs. Our family deeply hopes that his works, which came to life through these struggles, will never be forgotten. We will do our best to preserve his legacy.”

Finally, the family announced their plans to donate all of the condolence money, “All the condolence money received during the funeral will be donated in Wheesung’s name to a cause that can create a positive impact on society. We will carefully consult with experts in the relevant fields to ensure it is used in the most meaningful and sustainable way.“
On March 16, Wheesung’s send off ceremony were held at Seoul Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam, where numerous colleagues and fans gathered to bid him farewell.
Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his first full-length album “Like A Movie” and went on to release numerous hit songs, including “Can’t We”, “With Me”, “Even Thought of Marriage” and “Love Is Delicious”.
